Sweetened Maple Keys

June 5, 2011

Every June fruit from the Silver Maple tree rain down on me. Failing to see the forest through the trees, they evoke the chore of an unwanted cleaning spree. Damn those one armed helicopters that whirl through the air landing in dry crunchy piles everywhere. Under my feet is a carpet of messy, uninvited, brown paper keys where once a garden and lawn used to be. Exasperated I ponder if I were not a homeowner what then would I see? With my perspective temporarily flipped upside down I found reprieve in a whimsical piece of serendipity.
